Love is Our Default Setting

It is a time of change and many people around the world feel challenged, stuck or are struggling. We all handle these times in our own way. And many of us are in a deep contemplation about what all of this means. It also makes us acutely aware of our human fragility and how quickly life can shift.

We cannot take love or this life for granted; there are no guarantees. This can be difficult to think about, but it’s true. So now, more than ever, it’s important to remind ourselves how lucky we are to be here and how privileged we are to have every experience.

It is so important to be grateful for the people we love, to feel how much they mean to us. It is a reminder to tell them how much they mean to you. This is the time to pick up the phone, send a letter, even a text and say I love you! Hug someone. Include yourself in the expression of love, too.

All of these gestures make a huge difference. We all agree that our world is in need of love, so let’s take the risks and actively put it out there. Allow yourself to give and receive love in all its forms…notice where you may feel resistance and love that too.

Marianne Williamson says that we are not held back by the love we didn’t receive in the past, but by the love we’re not extending in the present. We are constantly being invited to truth of our very nature. Everything we do from and for love heals, inspires and uplifts humanity.
