Monday is Thanksgiving Day, so how can we not talk about gratitude? It’s good to have thankfulness built right into our calendar, at least one day when our whole society joins together in an attitude of gratitude. We can all find at least one thing to appreciate!
As we are continually reminded, if you wake up in a comfortable bed, can take a hot shower and look forward to breakfast you have an incredibly abundant standard of living! Chances are you have so much more than that…so let’s celebrate and be thankful.
Starting each day by thinking of all the things you have to be thankful for is one way to put your mind on the right track. Are you likely able to experience joy 24 hours a day? Probably not, but you can have a bad day and still find pleasure in the small things in life.
When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, remember the 1,000 reasons you have to smile. Face your past without regret; prepare to welcome the future with grace; focus on what’s good right now, and practice gratitude.
Take a moment to say thank you, to send a note, or tell someone how much they mean to you. The act of giving thanks is among the most fundamental acts of love, a heartfelt offering that acknowledges the generosity of a loving Spirit.
